Embedding the Low-Carbon Development
In the context of the global drive to address the Triple Planetary Crisis—climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution—Traction Energy Asia is committed to leading the charge in evidence-based development planning for Indonesia’s low-carbon future. We aim to significantly strengthen economic tools and data systems to enhance impact analysis and support informed decision-making across all levels of governance. By leveraging cutting-edge research, we will provide policymakers with the insights needed to align national and regional development plans with sustainable growth objectives.
Traction Energy Asia has built a foundation through two efforts. First, via Koalisi Ekonomi Membumi (KEM), we assisted 88 districts in developing long-term (RPJPD) and mid-term (RPJMD) plans incorporating disaster resilience, sustainability, and promoting sustainable agriculture, bamboo, coffee, cacao, and coconut supply chains. Second, in Trenggalek, Bangka Tengah, Aceh Tamiang, Gayo Lues, and Morowali, we produced GHG baselines, Green Regional Domestic Products (GRDPs), and spatial planning inputs—showing which emissions sources, key economic activities, and land-use safeguards.
